Iranian nuclear deal: Emmanuel Macron says France and its European allies will "accelerate negotiations"

Emmanuel Macron says France and its European allies will "accelerate negotiations" on Iranian nuclear power to "get out of the war and avoid more serious dangers," after a call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a message published on the social network X, on the ninth day of the conflict between Iran and Israel .
The French president said he had spoken with his Iranian counterpart and expressed his "deep concern about Iran's nuclear program." "Here again, I am demanding: Iran must never have nuclear weapons and it is up to it to give every guarantee that its intentions are peaceful," he said.
"I am convinced that there is a way out of the war and to avoid more serious dangers. To achieve this, we will accelerate the negotiations initiated by France and its European partners with Iran," Emmanuel Macron asserted.
Emmanuel Macron said he also requested, during this telephone conversation with the Iranian president, the release of Cécile Kohler , the French teacher detained in Iran with her partner Jacques Paris since May 2022 for "espionage".
"I reiterated my demand to him: Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris must be released. Their inhumane detention is unjust. I await their return to France," the French president assured.
Israel claimed to have killed three Revolutionary Guard commanders and targeted a nuclear site in Isfahan in strikes on Saturday, June 21, in Iran, on the ninth day of the war between the two enemy countries.
